Child and Babysitter's Course (CABS)
In this course, curriculum provided through the nationally recognized American Safety & Health Institute participants will learn the basics of infant and childcare, emergency procedures, choosing appropriate activities and other important information. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a printable certificate and help you stand out to potential employers as a more capable, confident, trained babysitter. This course covers: becoming a babysitter, preparing to babysit, staying safe on the job, taking care of children, when things go wrong, and bringing it all together. Cost $70. Pricing includes student workbook, list of fun activities for babysitters to entertain kids based on age, and assistance with creating a professional resume, business card or flyer for advertising. Course length: approximately 4 hours. Minimum 4 participants per course.
This course is ideal for participants ages 11-15 who are ready to become babysitters in their community but have no or little experience. This training will help give your child the confidence to safely and responsibly care for younger children in their care. This course does not cover First aid or CPR/AED. See the packages below if you are interested in including CPR/AED.
Child And Babysitting Safety Course (CABS) & Pet First Aid
This package includes the Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) course as detailed above combined with our basic pet first aid course. This package is a total of 6.5 hours in-person. The participant upon successful completion of both courses will receive certification cards for CABS and Pet First Aid Cost $90. Minimum participants: 4
Child And Babysitting Safety Course (CABS) & ARC First Aid/CPR/AED
This package includes the Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) course as detailed above combined with blended learning First Aid & CPR/AED course. The blended learning course is online and self paced but most be completed prior to the babysitting course start date. It is comprised of interactive videos presentation which if taken in one sitting should take approximately 2 hours and will be followed up in person with a skills demonstration in the classroom. The skills session will be completed after the CABS course completion. The participant upon successful completion of the skills session will receive a 2 year certification card. Cost $120. Minimum participants: 3
American Red Cross Babysitter's Course
In this course, curriculum provided through the American Red Cross, participants will learn the basics of infant and childcare, emergency procedures, choosing appropriate activities and other important information. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a printable certificate and help you stand out to potential employers as a more capable, confident, trained babysitter. Pricing includes student workbook, list of fun activities for babysitters to entertain kids based on age, and assistance with creating a professional resume, business card or flyer for advertising. $70
This course is ideal for participants ages 11-16 who are ready to become babysitters in their community but have no or little experience.
All kids courses are taught by instructor with a second adult present at all times for the safety of all students and instructor. Instructor and second adult are FBI fingerprinted, child abuse clearance checked, and PA criminal background checked. Copies of clearances available upon request of parent or legal guardian of participant.
Due to the COVID virus other communicable diseases, we ask that if you have any signs/symptoms such as cough, fever, sore throat, rash, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, runny nose, etc that you contact us immediately to reschedule your class. We will continue to limit class sizes to maintain appropriate social distancing space and maintain the safety of all persons regardless of vaccination status.
